Aged Care

The Phytness HealthCare team offers tailored services to aged care facilities and individuals living independently in the community. The level of our involvement varies from site to site with most of our serviced facilities and their residents receiving a combination of the following options:

Comprehensive physiotherapy assessments

Our physiotherapist assesses resident/s to establish their key problems and needs. We review residents every three months to evaluate the effectiveness of the physiotherapy service for each individual. Incident analysis and prevention, a continuous falls/incident analysis and the implementation of incident prevention is a standard component of our service.

Individualised resident therapy plans with treatments and exercises

We establish a physiotherapy careplan for each resident that is specific to their needs. Through our staff education and training program we ensure that all team members are competent in effectively undertaking the appropriate exercises.

Equipment and aids

Our physiotherapists make sure each aged care resident has access to the best of available equipment and aids.

Group exercise classes

Our exercise physiologist is available to run this service. This is a great way of ensuring safe and effective treatments in a time efficient manner to a group.

Manual handling education

Manual handling training is another important service provided by the Phytness HealthCare team. Optimal manual handling practices help ensure the safety of staff, the resident and also helps to maximise the independence of the resident.

  • Provide all new aged care staff with an induction and competency assessment in up to date and optimal manual handling.

  • Review the manual handling practices of staff as requested by management.

  • Complete annual manual handling training packages to aged care facilities.
